Safety Tips & Guidelines

At TravelBFF, your safety, comfort, and fun are our top priorities. Whether you're joining one of our official group trips or meeting up locally through our community, we want to make sure you have the best possible experience while staying safe and confident.

Just so you know: Community-led trips are created by members of our Facebook group and are not officially hosted by us. Our official TravelBFF trips are the ones you'll find right here on our website, with trusted local partners, tour guides, secure booking links, and full support from our team to keep things fun and stress-free from start to finish.

Safety Tips for Community Planned Meetups:

Before meeting up:

  • Events are for women 18+ only

  • Get familiar with attendees by clicking their Facebook or Instagram profiles

  • For meet-ups promoted by us, stay within TravelBFF-named Facebook or IG group chats — these are the only ones we can help with if something feels off

  • Never send deposits or money to anyone — report any money requests immediately

  • Double-check that any ticket links shared go to official sellers

  • Avoid sharing personal info (home address, work, etc.)

  • Arrange your own transportation

  • Don’t share anything you wouldn’t want to be public

At the meetup:

  • Remember: these are not official TravelBFF events planned by us — stay alert

  • Let someone close to you know your plans and location

  • Limit alcohol — know your limits

  • Don’t leave drinks unattended

  • Be mindful of surroundings and group comfort

  • Avoid bringing unexpected guests

  • Look out for others, but you are still responsible for yourself

  • If something feels wrong, leave immediately and reach out to someone you trust

After the meetup:

  • Check in with your trusted contact

  • Check in with the girls in the group — community care matters 💛

  • Trust your gut as you continue to stay connected

  • The card used for payment must belong to you

  • One short Zoom call (camera on) is required before the trip

  • We stay alert to suspicious behavior before, during, and after the trip

  • Anyone engaging in illegal activity or creating a hostile environment will be removed without refund and, if necessary, reported to local authorities

Group Culture & Conduct

These trips are for kind, independent-spirited women who love to explore.

  • Alcohol is fine in moderation, but excessive intoxication can put others at risk

  • We recommend a buddy system with your roommate(s)

  • Be mindful of wandering off alone or meeting strangers during the trip

  • You are responsible for your actions — we’re here to support, but your safety is in your hands too

  • Travel insurance is strongly encouraged, especially for trips with outdoor or physical activities
